Elvis & Nixon Movie Quotes
Elvis & Nixon movie quotes tell the story of when Elvis Presley showed up unannounced at the White House and asked to speak with President Richard Nixon. The comedy-drama film, which is based on real events, was written by Joey Sagal, Hanala Sagal and Cary Elwes. Liza Johnson directed Elvis & Nixon, which opened in theaters on April 22, 2016.

In Elvis & Nixon, on a whim one day in 1970, Elvis Presley (Michael Shannon) hops on a plane, writes a long letter to President Richard Nixon (Kevin Spacey) and arrives at the White House demanding to meet the commander in chief. While few, including top White House advisors Egil Krogh (Colin Hanks) and Dwignt Chapin (Evan Peters), know how to react, they end up convincing Nixon that a meeting with Elvis would be good to bring in younger voters.

So on December 21, 1970, Elvis, along with his entourage (including Alex Pettyfer and Johnny Knoxville), show up at the White House and receive strict orders about protocols for the visit. But the best-laid plans cannot survive the free spirit that is Elvis Presley and his meeting in the Oval Office with President Nixon does not quite go as planned, rather much funnier.

Elvis & Nixon was just one of several great April 2016 films showing including Criminal, Barbershop: The Next Cut, The Jungle Book, and Demolition.
Elvis & Nixon Movie Quotes,

Need to Get This Letter to the President
Elvis Presley: I need to get this letter to the president.
White House Guard: It's Elvis.
Elvis Presley: Thank you, thank you very much.

Elvis shows up unannounced to the guard shack adjacent to the northwest gate at the White House. While one guard notices the star, neither know exactly how to react in this situation.
Finding an Ally for Nixon
Dwight Chapin: You remember when you talked about finding an ally for Nixon, someone from the outside? You'll never guess in a million years who just showed up at the northwest gate asking to see him.
Egil Krogh: Elvis Presley? You swear this isn't a joke cause this penmanship is horrible.

Dwight and Egil, both advisors to President Richard Nixon, discuss quite the interesting visitor to the White House. Thought his penmanship is garbage, Elvis has rung the bell and wishes to speak with the president.
We Rose From Nothing
President Richard Nixon: You and me, we rose from nothing but look where I am today and look where you are.

President Nixon tries hard to find some common ground between him and Elvis Presley and actually succeeds to find one thing they have in common. To his credit, they did both come from nothing and go down in history, though maybe not completely for the right reasons.
Steel Claws of a Tiger
Elvis Presley: That's how I learned to develop these knuckles of steel. Now, slap them. Come on, harder! Harder! Let it out! Let it out! Those are the steel claws of a tiger, Mr. President.

In a playful moment in the Oval Office, Elvis Presley urges President Nixon to slap his knuckles harder and harder. While Nixon doesn't seem to completely understand the exercise, he does seem amused.
What Do We Have on This Guy?
President Richard Nixon: All right, now what do we have on this guy?
Egil Krogh: Well, he's one of the most famous men on the planet. Loves guns, hates The Beatles
President Richard Nixon: The Beatles, well, I don't like them

Prior to the meeting with Elvis, Egil has to explain to the President exactly who Elvis Presley is. While everyone else in the world seems to know Elvis, Nixon, apparently, needs a refresher.
Those Are Only for the President
Egil Krogh: Mr. Presley, we're going to have to go over the protocol. On the coffee table is a dish with M&Ms. Those are only for the president. There is also an unopened bottle of Dr. Pepper. Please do not open it. Please do not drink from it because it's only for the president.
...
Elvis Presley: M&Ms are my favorite.
President Richard Nixon: Mine too
Elvis Presley: Do you have a bottle opener?

An attempt to explain the house rules of the White House and Oval Office to Elvis goes horribly wrong. Everything Egil told Elvis he absolutely should not do, he surely did.
I Would Like to Go Undercover
Elvis Presley: I would like to go undercover as a federal agent. I've been in 31 major motion pictures. That makes me an expert in costume and disguise. I could infiltrate the Communists then I'd bust them all.
John Finlator: An undercover rock and roller, sounds ludicrous!
Elvis Presley: I can supply my own firearms.

Elvis explains why he feels he would be a perfect undercover federal agent. He wants to work for the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs, something he, uh, knows a lot about.
During My Nap Hour
President Richard Nixon: So, you think we should meet with him?
Egil Krogh: Yes, Mr. President
President Richard Nixon: During my nap hour...
Egil Krogh: Everybody loves Elvis. He could really help us with the youth vote. He would also like a badge.
President Richard Nixon: A what?

Nixon asks Egil for advice about if they should allow Elvis a few minutes in the Oval Office or not. Despite it interrupting Nixon's nap time, Egil does vote for the meeting.
